Catalyst Fund

Business loans for commercialising innovative technology

The purpose of the Enterprise Hub Commercialisation Catalyst Fund is to assist Enterprise Hub Network portfolio companies, who are asset poor, to commercialise technology which are relatively close to market. The fund will provide pre-commercial loans on an unsecured basis and act as a catalyst to attract further funding.

In order to be eligible, all applicants must be Enterprise Hub “Portfolio” companies and have completed phase 1 of the HubCAP process.

 

Loan fund details

Amount - £20,000 to £30,000
Period – Repayment over three years.
Early repayments will be encouraged without significant penalties
Interest rate – Base rate plus 10%

How does it work?

The Enterprise Hub Commercialisation Catalyst fund is a pilot project which will run until October 2006, with Finance South East acting as the fund manager.

Companies wishing to apply for funds must be sponsored by an Enterprise Hub Director who, jointly with the portfolio company, will submit a proposal to the Catalyst Fund Manager along with a written recommendation from the Hub Director on why the company should be considered for the fund.
