Helping Business Grow

Growing a technology or knowledge based business

If you are starting a technology or knowledge based business, with good growth potential, the Newbury Enterprise Hub can provide help, assistance and independent advice and would like to hear from you. Contact us now.

The  Enterprise Hub and our network is open to everyone, but we also aim to target resources by identifying and working particularly closely with "Portfolio" companies. The Enterprise Hub provides portfolio companies with direct help and support to take their businesses through the Hub commercialisation framework, which includes the following:

  • Merlin mentors – 60 experienced mentors who have all been part of managing and growing successful businesses are available as mentors to businesses for a six month period. Click here for more information
  • Market intelligence – The Hub can search find and then download relevant market reports from Frost and Sullivans comprehensive data base of market research.
  • Investment preparation advice – A joint meeting with the Hub Director and Finance South East to scope the funding landscape and assist with the development of key strategies.
  • Investment readiness programme – The Hub and its partner, Finance South East, will work with a company to refine its business plan and strategies to ensure the company is ready for investment.  For more information, click here.
  • An initial 1:1 with the Hub Director and assessment of your business proposition
  • Facilitated sessions on the HUB Commercial Action Plan, HUBCAP, software diagnostic that provides a structured view of the tasks required to bring an idea successfully to market
  • Specialist Intellectual Property advice
  • Links to finance/funding networks and finance advice
  • Network events and seminars focussed on high growth and start up businesses
  • Incubation accommodation on New Greenham Park if required

At the core of this is the relationship between the Hub Director and the owner/manager/director of a business.  The Enterprise Hub director, Ed Cooper, is able to offer impartial advice and support to a portfolio company throughout its early years.
